Tuesday, August 3, 2021 - 1:30pm to 3:30pm

Details

Register for a five-class workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from Aug. 3-31. You may register by calling Michelle Overton, PHC Physical Therapy, at 620.914.1200 x2315, or Jennifer Wolff, Harper County Department on Aging at 620. 842.5104. The class is on the Patterson Health Center campus, at 485 N KS Highway 2 between Harper and Anthony.

The threat of falling can be a barrier to safely doing all the things you want to do at home and in your community. That's why preventing falls is crucial to maintaining independence. Stepping On is a 5-week program that meets two hours a week. In the workshop, you will learn strengthening exercises as well as how to fall-proof your home, how vision and medication can contribute to falls and ways to keep from falling when you are out in the community.

This workshop is designated for anyone who:
* Is 65 and older
* Has had a fall in the past year
* Does not have dementia
* Lives at home and does not use walker or wheelchair most of the time
