Channity Farley, APRN, Hospitalist
Education: Wichita State University
Channity Farley is a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for rural medicine and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Her journey in nursing began at the age of 15 as a Nurses Aide in Wellington's long-term care facilities. Over the years, Chan advanced her career, becoming a Registered Nurse and serving in various roles, including acute care, swing bed, ER/OB, and outpatient care, at Sumner Regional Medical Center from 1999 to 2019.
After earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Wichita State University, Chan further expanded her expertise, working as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at Long-Term Care Specialist, seeing patients in long-term care facilities from 2018 to 2020. She also served as an APRN at Caldwell Regional Medical Center in the emergency room and as part of the team at Good Shepherd Hospice, performing patient visits since 2018.
Chan’s deep commitment to rural healthcare is reflected in her belief that accessible, local healthcare is vital for community well-being. "The importance of rural healthcare cannot be overstated," she says. "By getting involved with your local hospital or healthcare team, you play a crucial role in ensuring access to essential healthcare services for years to come."
Outside of her professional life, Chan is a proud wife to Tommy and mother to four children—Jacob, Dane, Mercedez, and Kenneth—and a grandmother to two grandsons, Cash and another expected in December 2024.
