Dr. Phu Truong, MD, FACP - Hematology/Oncology

Dr. Truong, a native of Wichita, received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1999. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita in 2002. Dr. Truong then completed a three-year fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2005. He completed a visiting fellowship in Blood and Marrow Transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Dr. Truong is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Truong is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and currently serves as the Presdient of ASCO’s Kansas chapter. Additionally, he is a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and the American Medical Association. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Truong is active in clinical cancer research having served as a Principal Investigator of the Wichita NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP), a National Cancer Institute sponsored research program.
Dr. Truong serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He also is the Oncology Medical Director at Wesley Medical Center. Since joining the Cancer Center of Kansas in 2005, Dr. Truong has become a significant member of the group, providing the high quality care patients have come to expect.
